These Terms govern your use of lokasurf.com and any booking made through LokaSurf. They're written to be clear, not to bury things. By using the site or completing a booking, you agree to them.

1. What LokaSurf is

LokaSurf is a booking platform that connects surf lesson participants with independent local surf instructors. We find, vet, and coordinate instructors — but we do not employ them. Every instructor on LokaSurf is an independent contractor who delivers the lesson directly to you.

2. What we provide

When you book through LokaSurf, we give you:

We do not provide surf instruction directly. The quality, safety, and execution of the lesson is the responsibility of the individual Instructor. That said — every instructor on LokaSurf has been personally selected, and if something goes wrong, we want to know about it immediately.

3. Bookings

A booking is confirmed only when full payment is received via Stripe. Once confirmed, you'll receive lesson details — including meeting point and time — via WhatsApp or email.

Bookings are subject to availability and ocean conditions. The Instructor has sole discretion to assess whether conditions are safe for your lesson on the day.

By completing a booking, you also agree to the Waiver & Release of Liability. Both documents apply.

4. What's included

Every LokaSurf lesson includes: surfboard, pre-water beach practice, in-water coaching, and transport to the surf spot where required. What's not included: wetsuit (not needed at Lombok — tropical water, 28–30°C), food, and any personal expenses.

5. Pricing

Prices are listed in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) with approximate Euro equivalents for reference. Exchange rates vary — the amount charged by Stripe is the definitive figure shown at checkout.

LokaSurf reserves the right to update pricing. The price shown at the time of your booking is the price you pay.

6. Cancellation & refunds

You cancel 48+ hours before the lesson Full refund. Contact lokasurf.team@gmail.com and we'll process it promptly.
You cancel less than 48 hours before the lesson No refund. The Instructor has reserved that time for you and will be paid regardless.
Bad weather or unsafe conditions Assessed by the Instructor on the day. We'll reschedule within 48 hours at no cost. If you can't make the new time, you receive a full refund.
Instructor cancels We'll find an alternative instructor or issue a full refund. You will never be left without options.

Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days. In cases where the cancellation is not LokaSurf's fault (e.g. you cancel late), Stripe's processing fee is not recoverable and will not be refunded.

7. Your responsibilities as a participant

8. Minors

Participants under 18 require written consent from a parent or legal guardian before booking. By booking on behalf of a minor, the parent or guardian accepts all terms and the Waiver on their behalf.

9. Instructor independence

All Instructors are independent contractors. LokaSurf vets and selects each one personally, but is not responsible for their individual actions during a lesson. Instructors are responsible for their own equipment, compliance with local regulations, and insurance where required by local law.

If your Instructor behaves inappropriately, cancels without notice, or delivers a lesson significantly below standard — contact us immediately at lokasurf.team@gmail.com. We take this seriously and will act on it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LokaSurf's total liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the amount paid for that specific booking. LokaSurf is not liable for personal injury, loss of property, or other damages arising from surf lesson participation, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct by LokaSurf directly.

11. Intellectual property

All content on lokasurf.com — text, images, video, logo, brand, and the LokaSurf name — is owned by LokaSurf. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it without explicit written permission.

12. Content you share with us

If you share photos, videos, or reviews with LokaSurf (including via the post-lesson review process or by tagging @lokasurf), you grant LokaSurf a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content on its website and social media. We will always credit you if requested. We will never sell your image or content to third parties.

13. Privacy

LokaSurf collects only the data required to process your booking. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the business grows. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly — and we strongly prefer to resolve things directly — will be subject to the exclusive appropriate legal jurisdiction.
