This Waiver is between you (the person completing the booking, the Participant), LokaSurf (the booking platform), and the independent local surf instructor assigned to your lesson (the Instructor).
The Instructor is an independent contractor — not an employee of LokaSurf.
Surfing is an outdoor ocean sport. The ocean is unpredictable. By booking, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily engaging in an activity that carries inherent risk of injury, including:
These risks exist even in beginner conditions, even with an experienced instructor present, and cannot be fully eliminated. The Instructor will assess conditions before and during the lesson and may modify or stop the lesson if deemed unsafe.
By completing a booking, you confirm that:
If in doubt about your fitness to surf, consult a doctor before booking. If you arrive impaired, the Instructor has the right to refuse the session — no refund will be issued in that case.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless LokaSurf and the Instructor from any and all claims, demands, damages, or causes of action — including claims arising from negligence — in connection with your participation in a LokaSurf surf lesson.
Your Instructor provides a surfboard appropriate for your level. Use it as instructed and report any damage or malfunction immediately. You accept financial responsibility for damage caused by reckless or negligent use of the equipment.
Wetsuit is not included. LokaSurf lessons currently operate in tropical water at Kuta Lombok (approximately 28–30°C) — boardshorts or swimwear are sufficient. If you feel you need a wetsuit, please arrange it independently before the lesson.
You consent to your Instructor and/or LokaSurf capturing photos and video during your lesson for use on LokaSurf's website, social media channels, and marketing materials. LokaSurf will never sell your image to third parties. If you do not consent, simply tell your Instructor before the lesson begins — no questions asked.
The full cancellation and refund policy is in the Terms & Conditions. In short: cancel 48+ hours before the lesson → full refund. Less than 48 hours → no refund. Bad weather or unsafe conditions (assessed by the Instructor) → rescheduled or fully refunded.
If you are booking for a participant under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide explicit written consent before the lesson. By completing the booking, the parent or guardian confirms they accept this Waiver in full on the minor's behalf.
This Waiver is governed by the laws of Estonia. LokaSurf is registered as LokaSurf under Estonian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the appropriate legal jurisdiction.
